54 children from Hunterville and Marton Schools had the thrill of singing in the first of 3 performances in the Regent Theatre, Palmerston North, in the “Kids for Kids World Vision” concert on June 9. Children from Mangaweka School also took part. 3 months of practicing 17 songs came to an exciting climax in front of 1000 parents and friends.

The fun filled evening stacked with familiar tunes from the past, e.g. “Day-O”, “Jail House Rock”, “Beach Boys Medley”, “Alexander’s Ragtime Band”, to name a few, with 530 children on stage performing actions and singing with NZ icon Suzanne Prentice will no doubt be a lasting memory for the children. Two local soloists, chosen from 17 schools in the region, were Rebecca Pugmire (Marton School) and Kelly Takurua (Hunterville School).

Bulls School participated on the last night.
